Inspired by the beautifully personalised Burberry cover-ups featured in their F/W 2014 collection, capes have made a major comeback this autumn/winter, and not just for Halloween. They are the perfect layering trick, serving as pretty much a cosy blanket ready to throw over any outfit for a chic, put together look. They have been seen all over the streets of every major city and stole the show this fashion week season. In a multitude of prints from tartan, for that cosy autumn look, to bold edgy stripes, all the way to a classic minimalistic look in black or white, there is a style for everyone.

All Over You

Along with Birkenstocks and boyfriend jeans, as the comfy casual look returned this year, so did the ever so cool overalls. Whether you go for an all-black leather piece inspired by the likes of Trussardi and Simonetta Ravizza, or the classic denim for a true 90s look, either way you’re sure to make a statement. Update them for autumn and layer with a chunky turtle-neck knit and a pair of oxblood loafers, and you’re ready to go.

Getting Sneaky

For me, trainers are the perfect way to look ever so cool and nonchalant this autumn/winter, yet extremely comfy at the same time. As soon as trainers hit the catwalk and brands such as Nike and Adidas brought out new ranges specified to do anything except actual sports, you could hear the heel-blistered feet of the world rejoice. You no longer have to wear the painfully high, new season Louboutins to look like you know whats on trend, just bung on your old comfy sports trainers and save your feet.
